Christopher Centrich, Class of 2001
Chris enjoyed a successful high school career competing in gymnastic and track and field (indoor and outdoor). Highlights of his high school career include winning the State Championship and Eastern States Championship in pole vaulting, breaking the 21 year-old Section VI record in pole vault, and winning the Section VI title in Boy’s Gymnastics (all-around). Chris traveled across the Northeast representing Hamburg High School in both gymnastics and track and field, including numerous state championship meets; the Eastern States Championship (pole vault), and the Penn relays (pole vault). Additionally, Chris represented Hamburg (unofficially) in pole vault in multiple Empire State Games. Following graduation from Hamburg, Chris competed on the University of Miami (Florida) track and field team, where he lettered all four years and competed in both the Big East Championships and the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships. Following college, Chris hung up the spikes but continued to apply the lessons learned through his athletic career to graduate from the University of Texas School of Law.
