Dirk Dugan

Class of 1968 – Dr. Dugan was a phenomenal tennis sensation, who competed three consecutive years (1966-1968) in the New York State Tennis Championships. Dr. Dugan was Section VI tennis champion in both 1967 and 1968, and was the 1968 recipient of the Billy Kelly Award, given to the top athlete of WNY. Besides playing tennis, Dr. Dugan was also 1st team ECIC in both basketball and soccer, and was the Hamburg Class President for the Class of 1968. After graduating from Hamburg, Dr. Dugan went on to Cornell, where he was an All-Ivy selection in tennis while playing for The Big Red. Dr. Dugan was inducted into the Cornell Sports Hall of Fame in 1985 for Tennis and Squash. Upon completion of his studies at Cornell, Dr. Dugan went to medical school at SUNY@ Buffalo and became an Orthopedic Surgeon with Orthopedic Services of Cayuga Medical Association in Ithaca.
