Mary Byrnes-Foyle

“Miss Byrnes”, as she was known for during her teaching years did it all during her 33 year career at Hamburg. She was the cheerleading coach for 27 years, and supervised girl’s intramural, extramural, sports-days, and invitational games. She was the first woman to represent Section VI for girls on the state executive committee. Miss Byrnes, along with Mr. Rodiek, was the driving force to get interscholastic sports for girls into the ECIC, and throughout W1VY. She also served as Athletic Director from 1984-1985.
