Sharon Cichocki

Sharon attended SUNY at Buffalo where she received both undergraduate and master degrees in Mathematics. During her tenure at Hamburg High School she not only taught Mathematics for 36 years, but she was also the National Honor Society Advisor for 26 years and the Secondary Mathematics Coordinator for 12 years. Throughout her career Sharon was instrumental in promoting and implementing curriculum using Hand-Held Technology at Hamburg High School, throughout New York State, Nationally and Internationally. She conducted hundreds of workshops for teachers of Mathematics and Science using innovative materials she developed for these workshops and published articles on classroom technology implementation for Texas Instruments and NASA. Sharon also developed Mathematics curriculum for Hamburg High School, BOCES, Texas Instruments, and the New York State Department of Education. In addition to teaching at Hamburg High School Sharon taught in the Buffalo State College Mathematics Program, and in the SUNY at Buffalo Gifted Math Program for over two decades. Over her career Sharon held leadership roles in the Association of Mathematics Teachers of New York, New York State United Teachers, and as President of the New York State Association of Mathematics Supervisors. She was also a frequent presenter on Mathematics Instruction at State, National and International teacher conferences.
